Integrity. Quality. Efficiency.
Sam Hamburg was 17 years old when he escaped the ghetto of Vilius. He spent the next 3 years fighting Nazis and living as a partisan in the wilderness of Russia and Lithuania. When the war ended, he emigrated to then Palestine.
In 1955, he came to New York and founded Empire Pump & Motor Co. Utilizing his vast mechanical knowledge gained through his varied experiences as a partisan and a bomb defuser, he imparted his knowledge on the staff of his newly established firm.
Sam used to say, “You can’t fool a machine. Quality and Integrity go hand-in-hand in all our dealings with our equipment and with our customers.”
This has been our guiding tradition ever since. Our policy is to give the customer what he needs – no hard sell, no gimmicks. We communicate clearly what we are doing and what still needs to be done. Our long-standing membership in the NY chapter of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and The Electro-Mechanical Authority (EASA) are further examples of our dedication to excellence.
Over the years, Empire Pump & Motor has gained a reputation as the #1 place for trusted and reliable service. Whether you need a repair on a pump, roof fan, compressor, motor or just troubleshooting, we can help you find the most cost-effective, efficient solution.
After being run by Efraim Blumberg for close to 30 years, Libel Greenfeld took over management of the company and continues to uphold its commitment to integrity, quality, and efficiency.
Our machine shop is conveniently located in the heart of the tristate area in Long island City right after the midtown tunnel, which allows us to offer our clients unmatched turnaround times.
Our technicians are known for their expertise and we constantly keep up with the latest technological developments in pumps, efficient motors, and mainly in electrical controls like variable frequency drives (VFD), programmable logical controllers (PLC) and more..
One of our guiding principles is not to “lock you in” with technology that only we can service. All of our work is done so that anyone else can come in and take over. You own the equipment, and can have it serviced as you see fit.
